Trail Canyon Falls is a beautiful hike up to a 40-foot waterfall in Angeles National Forest. It is a 40-45 minute drive from Burbank and easy to navigate. At the beginning of the hike, you will find relative shade on the dirt road and a steady incline. About halfway in, the trail becomes more exposed with less shade.
The trail follows a creek through the mountains. As you get closer to the waterfall, the incline becomes steeper and more slippery, so wear appropriate footwear.
Once you get to the waterfall, there are two pathways you can take. You can either go to the top of the waterfall and look down on it. It’s a steep and rocky fall, so watch your footing. To get to the plunge basin of the waterfall, you have to go down a steep decline, but ropes are available to hold, so you don’t slip and fall.
This moderately challenging hike may be difficult for beginners, but it leads to a beautiful and peaceful area. It can get busy during weekends but is relatively open during weekdays.
